House of Representatives v. President Barack Obama

Am I the only one that fell asleep during government class when they taught that the President can be sued?! Color me surprised when reading that the H.O.P. plans to file suit against Pres. Obama for our involvement in Libya. This is what we’re mad about? No one sued Bush for his scavenger hunt of weapons of mass destruction or Nixon for the Watergate Scandal, but this right here merits a lawsuit? (-_-)

More after the jump…

Washington (CNN) — A bipartisan group of House members said Wednesday

they are filing a lawsuit that challenges U.S. parti

cipation in the Libya military mission.

Meanwhile, the White House is sending a report on the mission to Congress on Wednesday in order to answer questions raised by legislators, Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters.

The administration’s report will include a legal analysis for the mission and address a June 3 House resolution that raised questions about the president’s goal in Libya, how he hopes to achieve that goal, why he has not sought congressional authorization for involving U.S. troops abroad and how much the conflict will ultimately cost, Carney said. (source)

This isn’t the 1st time, however, someone too bored for their own good wanted to sue the president. 3 years ago when he won, attempts were made to sue him, claiming he falsified his eligibility and that he wasn’t a citizen. At least this is more of a “legitimate” claim against the president.
